Why can't passkeys be switched off?

We use passkeys to provide secure, reliable access to your subscription. Passkeys replace traditional shared logins and passwords with a safer, user-based login system. This means each person in your organisation needs their own account.

Security Benefits

Passkeys protect your account against common risks such as password reuse, phishing, or unauthorised access. Each passkey is tied to a specific device or identity, so only the intended user can log in. This ensures:

  • Greater protection from credential theft.
  • Stronger compliance with modern authentication standards.
  • Peace of mind knowing that your data and documents remain secure.

User-Based Subscriptions

Your subscription is licensed per user, not per organisation. Each user needs an individual login, which is protected by their own passkey. This structure ensures:

  • Accurate licensing so everyone accessing our platforms is covered.
  • Clear audit tracking of who has taken actions on platform.
  • Simpler support when resolving issues, as each account is unique.

Why Passkeys Can’t Be Disabled

Because the platform is designed around both security and user-based licensing, passkeys are essential. Allowing them to be turned off would remove important protections and undermine the subscription model.
