Striking out clauses in forms

In some ADL Forms (such as clauses related to pets or optional terms), you may need to strike out text that doesn’t apply. While you can't directly edit merge fields, you can apply a strikeout to other editable text using the built-in strikeout feature.

✅ Steps to Apply Strikeout:

  1. Open the document in ADL Forms Online.

  2. Click the "S" icon in the toolbar at the top of the document viewer. This enables the Strikeout tool.

  3. Highlight the relevant text you wish to cross out.

  4. The selected text will now appear crossed out, indicating it should be excluded.

📝 Example:

In pet-related clauses, strike out wording that doesn’t apply to the agreement. For example:

Before:

The landlord agrees the tenant may keep the following animal at the residential premises:

After using strikeout tool:

The landlord agrees the tenant may keep the following animal at the residential premises:

This lets you comply with the form’s instructions (e.g. “Cross out these clauses if not applicable”) while maintaining form integrity.
